The Faculty policy on extensions is provided for in the Faculty Regulations (Reg. 27) according to which extensions are only granted on the basis of a medical certificate or analogous circumstances.
Please consult the Faculty's Handbook of Academic Regulations, Resolutions and Policies.
These regulations are strictly enforced out of fairness to all students. Students should take cognizance of these in planning their academic workload and other commitments and make note of the dates and times of deadlines. If unsure of a deadline, please consult with the instructor. In the Faculty of Law, permission to delay submission of required term work must be obtained from the Student Affairs Office. It cannot be granted by the instructor.
Students must submit their extension request directly to the Student Affairs Office at least 2 business days prior to the submission deadline.
Important:聽While awaiting a response to your extension request, you are expected to continue working on your assessment. This ensures that, if your request is not granted, you will still be able to submit your work as close to the original deadline as possible. If a request was submitted in advance but ultimately not approved, late submissions will not be penalized solely due to the pending decision. This said, students will need to submit as soon as possible following receipt of the non-approval.
Requested Due Dates cannot be more than 30 days in the future (e.g., if today is March 1st, you cannot request a due date beyond March 30th).聽
