The talk wil l explore legal and policy responses to address this phenomenon\, includin g creative interpretation of existing international law\, and the adoption of a new multilateral instrument. It will also discuss the developing jur isprudence in New Zealand’s courts.\n\nThe speaker\n\nHanna Haile is a Ste inberg Post-Doctoral Fellow at the ´ó·¢²ÊƱƽ̨ Center for Human Rights and Lega l Pluralism. Her research and writing interests lie in the fields of inter national human rights\, migration\, environmental law\, sustainability and intellectual property rights\, with a particular focus on the question of how cultural phenomena shape and are shaped by law. Recently\, she has be en working on a project on the impacts of the activities of copper mining companies on communities living on the Copperbelt of Zambia. She has worke d for the US Research Institute for Social Development\, Cornell Universit y\, the University of Asmara and the High Court of Asmara.
