Dr. Fernandez majored in Biochemistry and Ch emical Engineering\, earning their doctorate in the field of regenerative medicine in 2022. During their studies\, they also held multiple leadershi p roles driving mental health and EDI advocacy at ´ó·¢²ÊƱƽ̨. In 20 23\, they voyaged to Antarctica as a member of Homeward Bound\, an interna tional network of women and non-binary STEM professionals collaborating to ward the UN sustainable development goals. In there current position headi ng the Office of Engineering Inclusivity\, Diversity\, and Equity Advancem ent (E-IDEA)\, Dr. Fernandez and their team support students\, staff\, and faculty to shift the culture of Engineering\, Architecture\, and Urban Pa nning through applied principles of inclusive leadership\, community build ing\, and collective action.\n\nProf. Ipek Türelli\n Prof. Türelli is an As sociate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Architectures of Spatial Ju stice at ´ó·¢²ÊƱƽ̨. Her research interests include low-income hous ing\, participatory design\, civil protest and urban design\, and campus l andscapes. She is Coordinator of the research group on Democracy\, Space\, and Technology under the Lin Centre. She also serves as Senator as well a s a MAUT (´ó·¢²ÊƱƽ̨ Association of University Teachers) Council Member.\n\nPr of. Noémi-Manuelle Dorval Courchesne\n Prof. Dorval Courchesne is an Associ ate Profess of Chemical Engineering at ´ó·¢²ÊƱƽ̨ and the Canada Re search Chair in Biologically Derived Materials. She completed her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at MIT. Her research interests focus on developing f unctional protein-based materials for environmental and biomedical applica tions. She is also involved in various research initiatives and has receiv ed awards in recognition of her research excellence and leadership in the field of Chemical Engineering.\n\nProf. Stephanie Loeb\n Prof. Loeb is an A ssistant Professor of Civil Engineering at ´ó·¢²ÊƱƽ̨. She holds a Ph.D. from Yale University\, where she explored the environmental virology \, her research focuses on materials science and environmental engineering .
