DESCRIPTION:Workshop Overview: In this 2h tutorial\, participants will be b
 riefly introduced to (i) the idea of using neural networks to conduct clas
 sification\, (ii) practical experience of creating a neural network model 
 using available torch modules in R\, (iii) the configuration of hyperparam
 eters of neural networks and their influence on the model performance\, an
 d (iv) overfitting issue.  This tutorial focuses on the basic ideas of neu
 ral networks and does not involve mathematics derivation heavily.  \n\nAt 
 the end of the workshop\, participants will be able to: \n	- Understand the
  general pipeline of conducting classification\, and the concept of activa
 tion function and loss function. \n	- Understand the concept of hyperparame
 ters \n	- Understand the concept of overfitting\n\nPrerequisites \n	- Unders
 tand the classification problem and the general pipeline of conducting pre
 diction\, including the training\, and testing procedure\; e.g. from works
 hops Introduction to ML in R\, or Fundamentals of ML in Python. \n	- Knowle
 dge of the basics of regression is preferred.  \n	- Knowledge of R and RStu
 dio. \n	- Install R and RStudio on your computer. You can find installation
